Airport tips:
If you have yet to book your flight, John Wayne Orange County Airport is the most convenient, less than six miles from our door. If you are flying into the area and are not renting a car at the airport, there are Super Shuttles available at all airports, just outside baggage claim.

Driving Directions:
From John Wayne Orange County Airport (about 15 minutes):
• As you leave baggage claim, take the Campus Drive Exit.
• Turn right on Campus Drive and follow this road just over three miles to 17th Street.
• Right on 17th Street, then drive about one mile to Superior Avenue.
• Left on Superior, then drive about one mile to Pacific Coast Hwy (Highway 1).
• Right on Pacific Coast Hwy.
The NEWPORT CHANNEL INN is about one block North on the right. (Note: Campus Drive changes its name to Irvine Avenue about a mile from the airport)

From Los Angeles and L.A. International Airport (about 45 minutes):
• Take the 405 freeway South. Using the carpool lane will save time.
• Take the South Exit at Brookhurst Street. Follow Brookhurst Street South five miles Pacific Coast Hwy (Highway 1).
• Turn left on Pacific Coast Hwy.
The NEWPORT CHANNEL INN is just over one mile South on the left.

From San Diego (about 75 minutes):
• Take the 5 freeway North to the 73 Tollroad North (about $3.50 - $4.00 at the tollbooth, but well worth the time saved) to the 55 freeway South.
• Follow the 55 South to the end of the freeway where it becomes Newport Blvd.
• Continue to follow Newport Blvd. just over one mile.
• Take the Hwy 1 Long Beach Exit, which is just past Hospital Road. This Hwy 1 exit ramp takes you to a stoplight, which is Pacific Coast Hwy (Highway 1).
• Turn right on Pacific Coast Hwy.
The NEWPORT CHANNEL INN is one mile North on the right. (Free alternative: Substitute the 405 freeway North for the 73 Tollroad.) (Scenic alternative: Substitute the Hwy 1 Beach Cities exit, just past San Clemente, and follow Hwy 1 to Newport Beach).

From Las Vegas (about 4 hours):
• Take the 15 freeway to the 91 freeway South to the 55 freeway South.
• Follow the 55 to the end of the freeway where it becomes Newport Blvd.
• Continue to follow Newport Blvd. one mile.
• Take the Hwy 1 Long Beach Exit just past Hospital Road. This Hwy 1 exit ramp takes you to a stoplight, which is Pacific Coast Hwy (Highway 1).
• Turn right on Pacific Coast Hwy.
The NEWPORT CHANNEL INN is one mile North on the right.

From Palm Springs (about 2 hours):
• Take the 10 freeway to the 60 freeway to the 91 freeway South to the 55 freeway South.
• Follow the 55 to the end of the freeway where it becomes Newport Blvd.
• Continue to follow Newport Blvd. one mile.
• Take the Hwy 1 Long Beach Exit just past Hospital Road. This Hwy 1 exit ramp takes you to a stoplight, which is Pacific Coast Hwy (Highway 1).
• Turn right on Pacific Coast Hwy.

Tips for getting around Newport Beach:
At check-in time, we will supply you with a map of Newport Beach and offer a tour on the map, if you like. Most of Newport Beach is within a five-minute drive of the NEWPORT CHANNEL INN. Walking and bicycle pathways abound, with bike and rollerblade rental shops nearby. Other alternatives:

Bus: The Orange County Transit District Bus stops just a few steps away at the corner of Coast Hwy and Prospect. They offer a day pass for all of Orange County for $3.00.

Taxicab: Fairly reasonable for short trips around town, and they usually arrive within fifteen minutes of request. Discount flat rate fares to the airport are also available.

Car rental: Anything from an economy compact to a Ferrari convertible are available in Newport Beach. NEWPORT CHANNEL INN Guests receive discounts at several local car rental agencies, which also offer you a free ride from our door.
